Luis Scola had 19 points and 10 rebounds, Kyle Lowry added 13 points and two crucial three-point plays down the stretch, and the Houston Rockets beat the Philadelphia 76ers 93-87 on Wednesday night. Kevin Martin scored 16 points and Patrick Patterson added 12 off the bench for the Rockets, who've won three in a row and snapped a four-game home-court losing streak to Philadelphia.

The Rockets were getting beat inside most of the game Monday when foul trouble and circumstances inspired Kevin McHale to try the counterintuitive move of having his team play bigger by getting smaller. Forward Luis Scola and centers Greg Smith and Samuel Dalembert were in foul trouble, so with Marc Gasol on the bench for Memphis, McHale went with a small lineup, planning to get at least one big man back in soon. He never did. Gasol and Rudy Gay returned to the floor quickly in the fourth quarter, but the Rockets' small lineup was quicker to switch and help and better at cutting off penetration. In the first six minutes of the fourth quarter, the Grizzlies missed their first eight shots.

Ever since the Memphis Grizzlies traded backup point guard Kyle Lowry to the Houston Rockets on Feb. 19, 2009, games between the Griz and Houston have always interesting. The Rockets' 97-93 win Monday at Toyota Center was no exception.

After seeing what the Memphis Grizzlies had done in their previous two games, the Houston Rockets knew how important hitting their shots late in the fourth quarter would be on Monday night. Kyle Lowry scored 24 points, Kevin Martin added 22 and Courtney Lee made four key free throws down the stretch as the Rockets held off the Grizzlies 97-93.

With each 3-pointer Kyle Lowry hit on Sunday night, his confidence grew. By the fourth quarter, he felt as if he'd make any shot he took. And he almost did. Lowry made seven of eight 3-pointers and scored 32 points and Luis Scola had 26 and the Houston Rockets fought off a late run from the Utah Jazz and went on to a 101-85 win.

Houston Rockets forward Jordan Hill injured his right knee in practice Saturday and is expected to miss at least two weeks. Hill was evaluated by Dr. Walter Lowe, who found he has a sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee. Hill is averaging 5 points and 4.9 rebounds a game for the Rockets this season.
